We're Passionate About Revitalizing Detroit
JEDA Investment group was founded in 2015 and was built on redeveloping commercial corridors in Detroit. Our company wants to be the catalyst that drives change and investment in the city. The company was founded by Jerold Graham and Darryl Brown who have successfully invested their own resources to acquire a total of seven commercial buildings totaling over 40,000 square feet of commercial space.
Darryl Brown
Co-Owner
Darryl Brown has served in extensive leadership roles locally. After 12 years of serving the City of Detroit, fighting fires and saving lives, Mr. Brown retired from his firefighting career in 2012.
For more than four years following his retirement, he led the budget and financial operations of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters (IABPFF) – overseeing 21 chapters in 10 states for the North Central Region. Mr. Brown was successfully elected to this position twice and remains a Lifetime Member with this organization.
Darryl was an apprentice electrician with the IBEW Local 58 for five years and currently serves as Systems Supervisor at DTE Energy – a company he has been with for over 15 years.
Still wanting to serve his community, Darryl was elected to the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners representing the citizens of District 1 and Volunteers with the Wayne County Sheriff’s CERT Team, where he still serves today.
Darryl has also previously owned and operated three successful food and Tax preparation service businesses including: Black Bottom Soul Food, A Taste of Soul – at the former Northland Mall, Oaktown Nickel – in Oak Park and the Tax Experts.
Darryl along with his partner Jerold have a passion for community development especially in neighborhoods that were forgotten. Through his leadership roles Darryl is driven to redevelop corridors that will create jobs, create a stable tax base, encourage small business opportunities and most of all, eliminate blight.
Jerold Graham
Co-Owner
Jerold Graham was born and raised on the Northwest Side of Detroit. A graduate from Renaissance High School, and Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an Associate Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.
He has served as President of NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) at Wayne State University and has held various leadership roles in various local non-profit organizations. Jerold is passionate about community service, financial education, redeveloping urban communities, and teaching others about the benefits of investing in commercial real estate.
With so much investment in downtown Detroit and suburban areas, the urban neighborhoods have been forgotten about. Jerold is driven to redevelop the commercial corridors in the inner city, which will bring jobs, eliminate blight, create a stable tax base, fuel small businesses, and spawn more development in these underserved areas in Detroit.
