We're Passionate About Revitalizing Detroit

JEDA Investment group was founded in 2015 and was built on redeveloping commercial corridors in Detroit. Our company wants to be the catalyst that drives change and investment in the city. The company was founded by Jerold Graham and Darryl Brown who have successfully invested their own resources to acquire a total of seven commercial buildings totaling over 40,000 square feet of commercial space.

Darryl Brown

Co-Owner

Darryl Brown has served in extensive leadership roles locally. After 12 years of serving the City of Detroit, fighting fires and saving lives, Mr. Brown retired from his firefighting career in 2012.

For more than four years following his retirement, he led the budget and financial operations of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters (IABPFF) – overseeing 21 chapters in 10 states for the North Central Region. Mr. Brown was successfully elected to this position twice and remains a Lifetime Member with this organization.

Darryl was an apprentice electrician with the IBEW Local 58 for five years and currently serves as Systems Supervisor at DTE Energy – a company he has been with for over 15 years.

Still wanting to serve his community, Darryl was elected to the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners representing the citizens of District 1 and Volunteers with the Wayne County Sheriff’s CERT Team, where he still serves today.

Darryl has also previously owned and operated three successful food and Tax preparation service businesses including: Black Bottom Soul Food, A Taste of Soul – at the former Northland Mall, Oaktown Nickel – in Oak Park and the Tax Experts.

Darryl along with his partner Jerold have a passion for community development especially in neighborhoods that were forgotten. Through his leadership roles Darryl is driven to redevelop corridors that will create jobs, create a stable tax base, encourage small business opportunities and most of all, eliminate blight.

DBHG Welcomes The JEDA Group

DBHG is ecstatic to host the first “Real Estate Investor,” Workshop on Saturday, June 23rd, from 9 am-12 noon. Speakers include Co-owners Jerold Graham and Darryl Brown of JEDA Investment Group and Dale Grant, CEO of Ashton Business Consulting. They will discuss the “A-Z for Commercial Real Estate Investing,” and how to use real estate investments as tax write-offs. JEDA Investment Group, LLC develops and leases commercial space to tenants in high traffic corridors in Detroit. The company was founded in 2015 and was built on redeveloping commercial corridors in Detroit. The company strives to be the catalyst that drives change and investment in the city. The company was founded by Jerold Graham and Darryl Brown who have successfully invested their own resources to acquire a total of seven commercial buildings. Currently, the company’s business strategy is focused on purchasing and redeveloping commercial properties along the Grand River/Greenfield corridor. This corridor is adjacent to the affluent historic Grandmont/Rosedale community. This area is very vibrant and there has been lots of redevelopment in the area. The current project we are looking at to redevelop is a commercial block and lease out retail space to tenants. There are many small businesses in the city looking for locations; however, there are very few that can find developed locations to grow their businesses. The future of brick and mortar stores some people say are dead. JEDA Investment Group LLC owners believe the need will always be there because people like to shop in their own communities. Today, business owners do not have options. There are many dollars that can be spent within the city and jobs created, but many buildings in Detroit are left abandoned or need to be rehabilitated. The JEDA Investment Group LLC owners believe revitalizing the commercial corridors in the city are key to its growth and the state as whole, because Detroit is the heart of Michigan. The first thing someone sees when looking for a home is the commercial corridor; therefore, this is a vital component to redeveloping the neighborhoods and can entice people to come back to live in the city. Our plan is to focus on developing various corridors in the city starting with the Grand River/Greenfield area. In 2010 after graduating from Keller Graduate School of Management with a master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management, Dale Grant earned his CPA. Over the course of the next 7 years, he gained experience in financial reporting, tax, and audit. His experience ranges from auditing mid–sized companies throughout the state of Michigan in industries that include financial institutions, insurance companies, non-profits, and manufacturers to preparing tax returns for businesses and individuals as well as preparing financial statements and reports for public traded companies. During his time as a CPA with a large regional firm, he recognized that small businesses are an underserved community. From that experience was born Ashton Business Consulting. The company began in 2015 by providing services to family and friends on nights and weekends. Now is the time for the next step by offering small business services full time. Ashton Business Consulting, PLLC is a full-service accounting firm designed specifically to meet the needs of small business owners throughout Southeastern Michigan. Proudly serving those hardworking entrepreneurs in this great region and proud to take part in this entrepreneurial renaissance. Tickets are $30 for members and $40 for non-members and include a box lunch from the D Loft Cafe.
